IMO the price tag look is hit or miss. If it’s integrated into the layout correctly it can be very effective to help highlight a certain piece of information. A good friend has been enthusiastically recommending this book to me, and only recently did I find out it was published by NYRB, too. Now I’ve read your review, I understand why she recommends it. I’m a big fan of Patrick Ness’s Chaos Walking trilogy, which has more or less the same elements. It doesnt matter if there is some magical objective truth out there; if you can support your claim with enough reasoning, you will be able to convince people that your case is the most effective. That definitely works better than bludgeoning them with God, trying to claim that your morality is objective and should therefore be obeyed.when, in fact, if it were objective, it would be impossible to disobey.
Heck of a job there, it absolutely helps me out.
